Where is the floor going?
-If the floor is going to be installed in a basement (below grade), McCartney Carpet recommends an engineered floor that can be glued or floated. If the floor is to be installed above grade and over an approved wood subfloor, any of the 3 above categories are possible.
Does my home have excessive humidity?
If the home reads too high on the moisture scale, engineered floors can be used to reduce the expansion and contraction of wood that is caused by different humidity levels.However, if there is excessive humidity, it is not recommened to install wood floors.
